Columbus, OH - Oct 13, 2025 — Schoolfundr and the University Interscholastic League (UIL) have partnered to launch the UIL Impactful Leader Scholarship, a statewide initiative recognizing high school seniors who lead with integrity, elevate their teams, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Schoolfundr is Hometown’s fee-free, online fundraising solution helping schools and districts raise and keep more of what they raise by eliminating platform fees.
“We’re proud to partner with the UIL on a program that highlights what school athletics is truly about – character, leadership, and community,” said Dennis Levene, CEO of Hometown. “Schoolfundr was built to help students and schools thrive by removing the financial barriers that hold them back. This scholarship is an extension of that mission.”
The UIL Impactful Leader Scholarship is designed to spotlight students who are true ambassadors for their programs. Coaches and athletic directors are invited to nominate athletes who:
- Demonstrate exceptional leadership on and off the field
- Strengthen their team’s culture and spirit
- Show pride in their school and community
- Participate in team fundraisers and inspire others to get involved
Each winner will receive a $500 scholarship to the college or university of their choice. This scholarship will be awarded to one student-athlete per UIL sport and for sports with both boys’ and girls’ divisions, two awards will be given: one male and one female recipient. Winners will also be recognized during their sport’s UIL State Championship, where the UIL will honor each Impactful Leader and their contributions to their community.
