PIAA Renews Hometown as Official Digital Ticketing Partner Through 2030

MECHANICSBURG, PA - October 15, 2026 — The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) has renewed Hometown as its Official Digital Ticketing Partner, continuing to power postseason ticketing with Box Office after a competitive, nationwide RFP process.

This latest renewal extends Hometown as PIAA's ticketing partner through the 2030 championship season. Hometown powers ticketing for PIAA's state and inter-district championship events, working alongside 11 of the 12 PIAA district offices and more than 100 member schools and leagues statewide. With the help of Hometown, PIAA has sold more than 4.8 million tickets since the partnership began in 2018.

For PIAA's state and district championships, that means fans can buy a ticket from their phone instead of waiting in line at the gate, and event staff at postseason contests across the state can rely on the same digital check-in rather than handling cash. Game managers get a clear, real time record of every ticket sold, which simplifies closing out a tournament weekend across multiple venues.

"Over the years of this partnership, Hometown has become a core part of how PIAA runs events," said Mark E. Byers, Executive Director of PIAA. "The best partners are an extension of your team, and that is what Hometown has been for our schools, our districts, and our office as we deliver a championship-level experience for millions of students and fans across the state of Pennsylvania."

The renewal reaches beyond PIAA's state office. Districts 1 through 6 and 8 through 12 all renewed their own ticketing agreements with Hometown this year, alongside the state association's commitment. Championship ticketing now runs the same way from the district round through the state final, so a school that keeps advancing never has to change how it sells or scans a ticket.

“PIAA District One has been a proud user of Hometown since the 2021-2022 school year,” said Sean Kelly, Executive Director of PIAA District One. “I believe the Athletic Administrators in District One value Hometown because it streamlines our playoff ticket sales, reduces cash handling, and provides real-time ticket sales so schools know the size of their game day crowds. Hometown also allows for an easier and more convenient process of financial reporting. The fans who attend our District One playoffs and championship contests appreciate the convenience of buying tickets online in advance, accessing them on a phone, and enjoying a faster, cashless, paperless entry experience.”

"The value of a long-term partnership compounds. The state association, districts, and member schools all benefit when everyone is working from the same playbook," said Dennis Levene, CEO of Hometown. "We look forward to helping strengthen this digital ticketing playbook with the PIAA and are excited to continue supporting Pennsylvania schools, students, and fans for years to come."

Founded in 1913 in Pittsburgh, the PIAA is the governing body for interscholastic athletics in Pennsylvania, setting eligibility rules and contest standards for member schools and running state championships across more than two dozen sports. The association serves more than 325,000 student-athletes each year, ranking Pennsylvania among the largest states in the country for high school sports participation.

PIAA's renewed partnership adds to a growing number of Pennsylvania schools and athletic associations choosing Hometown for their ticketing and event management needs. To learn more about Hometown's connected suite of solutions, visit hometown.com.
