Celebrating our Spring 2025/2026 UIL Scholarship Winners

This season, we’ve enjoyed partnering with the UIL and Dave Campbell's Texas Sports to celebrate student-athletes who demonstrate excellence far beyond competition with the UIL Impactful Leader Scholarship award.

These graduating seniors embody the values that make school communities stronger: leadership, service, resilience, and the ability to positively influence those around them. Whether competing, volunteering, mentoring younger students, or creating opportunities for others, each winner leaves a lasting impact.

Congratulations to our Spring Sports scholarship recipients!

Track & Field

Dylan Stowe – Rogers High School

A multi-sport student-athlete competing in football and track and field, Dylan also serves as drum captain for the Rogers marching band and a member of the Superintendent's Advisory Board. His humility, discipline, and team-first attitude make him a natural leader both in competition and beyond.

“Dylan’s dedication to learning, leadership, athletics, and service sets a high standard for his peers. Dylan represents the very best of our next generation of leaders.”

Violet West – Windthorst High School

Violet earned her varsity spot as a freshman and has since led across athletics, student government, and community service as a class officer, Student Council officer, and vice president of both FCCLA and National Honor Society. She consistently organizes service initiatives and lifts others up without ever seeking the spotlight.

“Violet is the kind of student who leads by example, and encourages others to reach their leadership potential as well.”

Individual Tennis

Karina Zaharieva – Clear Lake High School

As captain of the Clear Lake tennis team and senior class president, Karina leads with dedication, integrity, and positivity, encouraging teammates regardless of results and working to ensure every student feels heard and included. Her energy, empathy, and determination make her an inspiring role model for her entire school community.

“Karina is an exceptional leader whose dedication, integrity and positivity inspire everyone around her.”

Johnaven “Johnny” Montalvo – Refugio High School

A football and tennis student-athlete at Refugio High School, Johnny leads through integrity, discipline, and perseverance, showing up with purpose, staying late to help teammates improve, and volunteering in his community. Coaches, teachers, and teammates describe him as the kind of leader who makes everyone around him better.

“Leadership is not defined by titles or trophies; it’s defined by character, consistency, and compassion. Johnny embodies all three.”

Golf

Madison Mitchell – Palestine High School

Madison leads with heart and integrity, consistently listening first and acting with purpose whether she is in the classroom, in the community, or on the course. Her genuine care for others and forward-thinking approach motivate everyone around her to stay focused and pursue growth.

“With a blend of natural charisma, integrity, and determination, Madison stands out not just for what she achieves, but for how she inspires others to rise alongside her.”

Colt Beckham – Monahans High School

Known for balancing academics, athletics, and service with humility, Colt consistently elevates those around him. On the golf course, he demonstrates focus and sportsmanship. In school and throughout his community, he leads through positivity, consistency, and respect.

“Colt’s combination of intelligence, dedication, and integrity makes him a standout among his peers, while his enthusiasm for learning and genuine care for others reflect the best of what a student leader should be.”

Soccer

Ezra Scott – Southwest High School

As a varsity soccer captain and high-achieving student, Ezra combines academic excellence with a strong commitment to serving others. Through mentoring younger athletes, volunteering in the community, and supporting local initiatives, he continues to create opportunities for those around him.

“Ezra stood out since day one. I have seen Ezra become a responsible young man who sets an example for his teammates.”

Kaitlyn Kilgore – Gregory-Portland High School

As captain of the Gregory-Portland soccer team, Kaitlyn has helped lead the program to the district title every season during her time with the team, while maintaining excellence in National Honor Society and school involvement. She holds high standards, lifts up younger players, and consistently demonstrates what leadership looks like.

“Kaitlyn serves as the premier example of excellence, something I’ve grown to value considering the impact she has on our younger players.”

Softball

Faith Perry – Graford High School

A varsity player and Academic All-District honoree, Faith balances athletics, academics, faith, and family with maturity beyond her years, consistently putting her team first and approaching every challenge with resilience and accountability. Her coaches describe her as trustworthy, hardworking, and deeply respected by everyone in the program.

“Faith is the kind of student-athlete who puts others before herself. She exemplifies the qualities of leadership, integrity, and determination both on and off the field.”

Baseball

Henderson Rives – Fulshear High School

Driven by his goal of continuing his baseball career at the collegiate level, Henderson used every challenge as motivation to improve his game and earn his place as a key contributor in the pitching rotation. His growth, determination, and commitment to his team reflect the qualities of a true impactful leader.

"He displays maturity and a willingness to go above and beyond the normal expectation in everything he does."
